Research & Outreach Internship
Weltitude Psychology, PLLC

About
The Research & Outreach Internship Program is designed for undergraduate students interested in learning about applied mental health research, psychoeducational content creation, and community outreach within a private practice setting. This is a strictly non-clinical internship—interns do not provide therapy or have access to client records. Instead, interns gain hands-on experience developing educational materials, blog posts, outreach products, and digital content to promote mental health awareness.

Interns participate in guest speaker sessions, mini-workshops, and group supervision led by a licensed clinician. The program emphasizes skill-building in health literacy promotion, applied research, and professional networking. Interns assemble a portfolio of supervisor-reviewed work products suitable for academic or employment applications, and may have the opportunity to publish outreach pieces on the practice website with author attribution.

The internship runs for 10–12 weeks, with a weekly commitment of 4–6 hours. Eligible applicants must be undergraduate students in psychology or related fields, enrolled at accredited colleges in Texas or Michigan. Successful completion of the program includes participation in workshops, creation of outreach and research materials, attending guest speaker educational and networking sessions, and a final portfolio presentation. Interns receive a certificate or letter of completion detailing their achievements.

Eileen Rodriguez-Rush
Student - Central Michigan University
I am currently a student at Central Michigan University pursing a bachelor’s degree in psychology and am highly interested in the opportunity to participate in this undergraduate internship program. My long-term goal is to become a licensed therapist, and I am eager to gain practical experience within a professional counseling environment.
Returning to college as an older adult student has been a significant personal and professional achievement. I made the decision to pursue my education with renewed determination and purpose, and this experience has strengthened my resilience, work ethic, and commitment to my career goals. I am passionate about the mental health field and dedicated to expanding my knowledge and skills as I prepare for graduate studies and a future career as a therapist. I value the opportunity to learn from skilled clinicians, gain a deeper understanding of the counseling profession, and to build professional relationships with other mental health professionals to receive mentorship that will support my continued growth.
My professional interests include working with individuals who have experienced trauma, members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals navigating religious trauma, and people from multicultural families and backgrounds. As I continue my education, I hope to develop the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to effectively serve these populations.

Leah Wolpert
Student - Central Michigan University
I am a senior undergraduate student at Central Michigan University pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with concentrations in mental health and business. My coursework in Applied Research Methods, Abnormal Psychology, Clinical Interviewing and Counseling, Lifespan Development, and Health Psychology has provided a foundation for my knowledge of
theory, research, and evidence-based practices. In addition to my academic studies, my experience as a Behavior Technician, previous counseling intern, and certifications in mental health related fields have strengthened my skills in communication, behavioral observation, and applied clinical support relevant to a career in psychology.
My long-term goal is to pursue graduate education in clinical or counseling psychology at a Masters or Doctorate level to work with young adults and adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, and the unique experiences of high-achieving and chronically ill individuals.
My interest in this program is driven by Weltitude Psychology’s focus on supporting these populations and alignment with evidence-based approaches to care. Through outreach projects and the development of client resources, I hope to further develop my understanding of mental health practice, strengthen professional skills, and gain insight into the work of building accessible resources for navigating the challenges of being human.
